VOLUNTEER FRUIT TREE PLANTERS NEEDED!

The Fruit Tree Planting Foundation (FTPF) is an award-winning international nonprofit charity dedicated to planting fruitful trees and plants to alleviate world hunger, combat global warming, and improve the surrounding air, soil, and water. FTPF programs strategically donate orchards where the harvest will best serve communities for generations, at places such as public schools, low-income neighborhoods, international hunger relief sites, animal sanctuaries, and Native American reservations. Please join us for our next planting, we need your help! Details are below, but please check-in with us prior to the event, as dates/times are subject to change...

Paiute Indian Tribe of Utah Plantings (June 20-22, 2009)

When: Saturday, June 20, 2009 (9 am) through Monday, June 22 (2 pm)
Where: Shivwitz Band Reservation in Ivins, UT (Jun 20-21) & Cedar Band Reservation in Cedar City, UT (Jun 22)

Details: This project will create 2 tribal community orchards and distribute trees directly to Shivwitz Band households and will be implemented under the direction of our certified arborist. Overnight camping site will be arranged. Volunteer space is limited, please contact us if interested. Part of our "Reservation Preservation" program.

Baltimore, Maryland School Orchard Planting (September 19, 2009)

When: Saturday, September 19, 2009 (9 am)
Where: George S. Bragg Nature Center, 6601 Baltimore National Pike, Catonsville, MD, 21228

Details: This day will be focused on planting a schoolyard orchard under the direction of our certified arborist. Activities will include digging, planting, mulching, learning new skills from an arborist, and having lots of fun! No experience is necessary, and a rewarding experience is guaranteed, rain or shine! Please RSVP as soon as you can. Part of our "Fruit Tree 101" program.
