Your Own Community Orchard
The Fruit Tree Planting Foundation (FTPF) – renowned for its global initiatives to combat environmental, economic, and social injustices through orchard plantings – proudly introduces its new ‘Orchards for Impact’ paid program. This initiative invites community groups, schools, parks, nonprofits, and government entities to receive an FTPF orchard and planting event through a fee-based, customized program. Our aim is to welcome those with interest and resources to participate without having to apply and wait for acceptance into our grant program, which currently has a significant waiting list with thousands of applicants. Additionally, a small portion of fees from the program will support our global efforts in underserved areas so you can feel even better about your orchard’s impact.
What to Expect
Planting events result in fully functional fruit tree orchards that benefit your community almost immediately. FTPF provides all related elements from start to finish, including orchard design and tree selection recommendations, high-quality region-appropriate plant materials, drip irrigation systems, tree guards, onsite training and workshops, in-person event day management, and aftercare consultations – all by our experienced fruit tree arborists. The result is a lasting legacy through the establishment of orchards that benefit communities for generations.

Cost: Orchards start at $6,500 per event for a typical orchard size of 40 large trees.

Celebrate Your New Orchard!
Every planting is a celebration of positive environmental and nutritional impact. Through an engaging community volunteer event, we turn an empty space into a new orchard in just a few short hours! Activities include tree-planting demonstrations with our expert team so that volunteers feel confident to plant the trees; oversight throughout the day by our arborists and staff to ensure every tree goes into the ground properly; installation of a drip irrigation system and tree guards if appropriate; and an aftercare workshop for those caring for the trees over time.

Each orchard project will have its own unique timeline, based on the time of year best suited to your region’s planting seasons, tree availability, and FTPF’s current schedule of events. We will always work with you to choose a date, types of trees, and orchard design that fulfills your vision for the space. ​

Standard orchards start at $6,500 and include design planning, tree selections, onsite expertise during planting day, plant materials for 40 high-quality fruiting trees and shrubs, drip irrigation, tree guards, and aftercare resources.
